As promised, here are some pictures from our trip to Yosemite. Our little one had a fever and other various ailments, but we decided to go anyway. But this time Owen actually broke us and we high tailed it to back to Bakersfield a little earlier than planned. Score one for the toddler. We did have some fun in between the bouts uncontrollable crying and ice shattering tantrum wails.
Trying on his snow boots. He loved them so much, no pants needed!
Trying out the snow suit.
Playing in the snow with his play-doh scissors. He was really cute when we first got there. He was asking me "what's this?" and I would say "snow". Then he says, "No mommy, that is a hippo." He saw lots of different animals in the snow.
Fun with Daddy. I'm amazed he kept his hat on for most of the weekend. Couldn't get him to wear the gloves though. He had cold, red, swollen fingers as a result.
Aunt Erin is showing Owen how to make a snowball.
And then he chucks it at her.
Silly daddy with snow on his head.
In his sleeping bag in our heated tent cabin.
In the Ahwahnee Hotel lounge. Owen is zoning out a bit here. We had breakfast at the Ahwahnee and then played on the grounds. We were going to a little kids program, but his attention span just wasn't there.
Happy Valentine's Day to us!
There were about 10 snow people/snow kitties on the lawn at the hotel. Owen went around to each one and asked us what their names where. Some of the highlights were Frosty, big snowman, woofy (Frosty's dog), and Amos the snow kitty (above).
Crazy hair snowman.
Owen refused to pose for this picture, but his replacement is pretty cute too.
It started snowing pretty good. Big flakes were coming down. We were teaching Owen how to catch them on his tongue.
You win kid, we're going home.
